I have a very simple take on life, and that is that I've always gone

with the flow . . .well, usually. Although I was a bit of a rebel in

my youth, my heart has done me quite well, to guide me through life

thus far. On the whole, with the exception of a few periods, life has

been good, satisfying, certainly an experience!

I also have a very simple take on love. Boy meets girl, they fall in

love, and live happily ever after. (Please indulge me for a moment.)

It need not be any more than that, nor any less than that. Perfect is

perfect, you can't take anything away from it, you can't add anything

to it, without disrupting that balance, that harmony. And I know

first-hand that love can work just like this. It did for me once, for

a long long long time.

The trouble is that people are complex beings, and sooner or later

someone wants (or thinks they want) something different, something

else, perhaps something more, or less. Complexity is also introduced

into this simple formula by peoples' individual interpretations of

all the various concepts that contribute to love - trust, honesty,

respect, devotion, integrity, acceptance, understanding, openness,

compassion, intimacy, etc. Sometimes their interpretations change in

response to an event. Or they become conditional . . .you know, the

"I'll love you, if you do this, or be like that" syndrome. Since

you're on this dating site, perhaps you're familiar with this.

Having been acquainted with my heart for a long time now, I'm not

going to delude myself by seeking a loving relationship that is

perfect. Ultimately, and in reality, is there such a thing? Something

reasonable would be great. I'm a reasonable man, and would love to

connect with a reasonable woman. You know, someone with whom to knock

around with for the next 50 or 100 years, or however long I last.

Someone I can love and care for, who would also do the same for me. i always feel sad and sometimes have to cry a little when writing my profile but i am sure and i believe that i am surely going to get what i want.Someone who, like myself, is open to the possibility of accepting new

love into her heart - as though it was the first, someone who is

happy to share everything, all the highs and lows life throws at us,

is a good communicator, and has the ability to laugh . . .a lot. Fun

is important! Someone who understands the importance of devoting time

and energy to a relationship, is capable of receiving and giving lots

of affection, and has at least just a bit of chemistry for me, and I

for her. These are all important to me.

Am an idealist? Probably . . .maybe . . .perhaps. I don't know . . .

I enjoy the usual things, which are mostly much more fun shared with

another - music, dancing occasionally, romantic dinners, movies,

walks, weekends away, good conversation, good humour, theatre and the

arts, perhaps some bushwalking, or beachwalking, or staying in is

fine as well. Tend to lean towards a preference for non-commercial in

everything these days. Movies, quite like good foreign and art-house

movies, and musical taste is eclectic, mainly enjoying contemporary

or avant-garde jazz and blues.

I'm not very demanding in a relationship, and would seek a woman who

is similarly not too demanding. The balance of some personal space is

also important, as it would be for her. I've been paid many

compliments by others I've met online over recent months. Atlas, the

complexities of people (including myself) have so far stood in the

way of finding new love. But I live in hope.
