FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE
Romantic love (Eros in Greek) is passionate love, it involves a consuming desire for intimacy with the other person. It is sexual in nature, desiring physical union as in between a husband and wife.
Friendship love (Phileo in Greek) is that of brothers. It is in its core companionship, likability, being of one mind. It is not sexual or passionate.
In human relationships there should be at least (Agape in Greek) that of unconditional love, such as God demonstrates towards men. That includes one's enemies, which is extremely hard for many of us.
We should unconditionally love and be willing to assist our friends with whatever need they have while genuinely loving and enjoying our companionship with them.
In our romantic relationships with our spouses, we should unconditionally and sacrificially love them. We should enjoy that companionship love with them, too, as friends and lovers. Due to the nature of living there may be times where the romantic love is not as present, but the friendship and unconditional love remains. There may be times of disagreement where it is only the unconditional love is what is there, but we should always be grateful for everything and everyone
